The creation of HOMEofTEAK:
A journey towards quality and sustainability in the garden furniture industry .
It all started with the search for value-stable, exclusive and yet affordable furniture for one's own garden. Since Wolfgang Eichner, founder of Home of Teak, regularly traveled to Indonesia on business, he took the opportunity to research directly in the country that is the largest manufacturer of teak furniture in the world. After more than a year of searching, he finally found partners in Jepara (Indonesia) who met all his criteria for serious teak furniture production:- exclusive use of high-quality plantation teak
- fair payment of local Indonesian carpenters
- quality-oriented production ( furniture manufacturing )
- responsible use of local resources ( origin )
- Willingness to work intensively with Home of Teak in order to meet the needs of European and especially German customers.

A success story of direct sales for high-quality teak garden furniture
After the first sample collection had been inspected on site and approved, HOMEofTEAK decided to continue to purchase larger quantities and was thus able to establish further improved purchase prices and direct cooperation - without any further middlemen. Based on direct sales to its customers in Europe via HOMEofTEAK in Alpnach and via the World Wide Web, extremely low prices for high-quality teak garden furniture could be achieved, which were passed on directly to the customer.
HOMEofTEAK is constantly working on improving details and expanding the existing collections and is also involved in the creation of new garden furniture classics that are durable in nature and, with their timeless shapes, also in line with every fashion.
In addition to its collections, HOMEofTEAK now offers a service that is probably unique in the garden furniture sector:
Custom-made items at outlet prices.
At first, only cushions were made according to customer specifications, but soon the customers' desire for tables made in the desired size grew. The "made-to-measure tables" program was born and was a great success from the start. HOMEofTEAK now also makes all garden bench models to measure and preparations are already underway for other furniture that is made exactly according to the customer's specifications and yet is cheaper than "off the shelf" goods from other manufacturers.
After initially only selling directly to corporate customers, HOMEofTEAK opened its web portal in October 2004, which finally gave end customers access to the HOMEofTEAK range. At the beginning, the entire collection could not be ordered here, but the bestsellers were already all online. At the beginning of 2005, the collection was significantly expanded again and since mid-2006 the entire range has also been available to end customers here.
